about

ESPAÑOL
--------------

ENGLISH
-------------
How do you tag five years of resistance, determination and solidarity from a small team of artists? With a battle cry. Chip o Muerte (Chip or Death) is that borderlands motel of motley rooms at the end of a wacky mexploitation road movie; a call of attention to the international chiptune scene and a reward to a group of friends’ relentless chase of a dream. In five years of Colectivo Chipotle there have been dances, laughs, street performances, booze, problems with authority, clown fights, museum rooms blooming with people and stages lacking apathy, critiques and praises, welcomes and so-longs. May the listener imagine that any single note in every track is a smile burgled, with decision, to loneliness, discouragement, defeatism, to “it can’t be done” and “what for?” and she/he will have a glimpse of the album’s true meaning: the triumph of creativity over near-impossible odds.
